Choking on Bones

This piece was the second work done in collaboration with L. Renée, Brianna Murray, and Sohyun Park. Alongside its counterpart, Green Peas, this song is considerably darker and flows a lot more freely.

The golems in the text can represent a variety of different forces in the world that attempt to strip away our integrity, perception of truth, and ability to stand up against injustice. Similarly, the concept of time is viewed negatively as something that is always working against us. Especially, in our isolated Midwest, time seems to flow by without paying much attention to events that occur outside our immediate sphere of existence. The rest of the world is choking on bones, whether we acknowledge it or not.
