Jamie has a Bachelor of Music in Composition and Percussion Performance and a Bachelor of Music Education from Baldwin Wallace University. He is currently attending Indiana University for his MM in Composition.

He has performing experience in wind ensembles, orchestra, percussion ensembles, marching band, new music chamber groups, student recitals, pit orchestras, jazz groups, and performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra multiple times at Heinz Hall.

His composing/arranging consists of both chamber and large ensemble works that have been performed on New Music Concerts, at the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Baldwin Wallace University, and Cleveland State University by the Cleveland Chamber Symphony. He has conducted both his own pieces and other works on student recitals and ensemble concerts, as well as on the concerts of the Shaker Heights Middle School and High School bands, and a summer orchestra for multiple performances.

In addition to composing, he has completed multiple transcriptions and commissions and is currently coauthoring a novel with Philip Brown. He is also an Eagle Scout.

Jamie has received scholarship for a combined composition/music therapy project, from Lee and Ageleke Zapis for Music Education, the Presser Foundation Scholar Award, the OMEA Memorial Student Teaching Scholarship, and most recently the Linda Fodor O’Connor & Richard W. O’Connor Scholarship. He has been inducted into both the Alpha Lambda Delta and Dayton C. Miller Honors Societies.

He has studied composition with Claude Baker, Clint Needham, John Sokol, Mara Gibson, & Loris Chobanian. He has studied percussion with Andy Miller, Ryan Korb, and Josh Ryan.
